  • La Digue can be addictive – the friendly atmosphere and casual lifestyle of the inhabitants are highly infectious. The fourth-largest island in the Seychelles is famous for its remarkable granite cliffs of seemingly divine creation surrounded by beaches with pure white sand. Relax on one of these beaches, but watch out as the currents can sometimes be strong. Alternatively, explore the island on a bicycle. As there are only around 20 cars on the entire island, this means of transport is a common sight on the roads. Gain insights into some of the traditional trades of old at L’Union Estate or marvel at the rare Seychelles paradise flycatcher which was once on the verge of extinction. Here, it lives in safety in the Veuve Special Reserve with numerous other animals including two extremely rare species of terrapin.
  • Nosy Be, the idyllic island off the north-western coast of Madagascar, is a dream destination for nature lovers and beach buffs. Known as “the fragrant island” due to its ylang-ylang plantations, Nosy Be enchants visitors with its palm-fringed beaches, crystal-clear water and vibrant underwater world. A particular highlight is Lokobe Reserve, where visitors can discover lemurs, chameleons and exotic plants. Nosy Be is also famous for its volcanic crater lakes, such as Mont Passot, which offers a breathtaking view over the island.
  • Nosy Iranja consists of two idyllic islands connected by a breathtaking strip of sand that becomes visible at low tide. Enjoy relaxing hours on the beach, let yourself be seduced by the gentle breeze and listen to the sound of the waves.
  • Antsiranana, also known as Diego Suarez, is located in the far north of Madagascar and features breathtaking landscapes, crystal-clear waters and a fascinating history. The city, which was once an important harbour during the colonial era, today exudes a unique charm that captivates visitors. Experience the lively atmosphere of the colourful markets, where the chatter of the locals and the scent of exotic spices fill the air. Let yourself be tempted by the diversity of Madagascan cuisine comprising fresh fresh seafood and regional ingredients. The surrounding area offers a variety of activities for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
  • Toamasina, formerly known as Tamatave, is Madagascar’s largest harbour city on the eastern coast of the island. This vibrant city is the economic centre of the region and offers a lively mix of history, culture and tropical beauty. A highlight of Toamasina is Parc Ivoloina, a nearby nature reserve and research centre, which is dedicated to the protection and study of native flora and fauna. Here visitors can observe lemurs, birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat and learn more about the ecological challenges of the region. The city itself offers interesting sights such as the historic church of Toamasina and the lively market of Bazary Be, where you can buy local products and handicrafts.
