Find your cruise nowThe 2017/2018 season will see the EUROPA 2, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ five-star-plus* luxury cruise ship, embark on fascinating and varied routes around the globe. In addition to a number of premiere ports, guests can also expect the new cruise format IN2BALANCE, which focuses on the relaxation techniques of the Far East. In 2017, three-time German Olympic champion Maria Höfl-Riesch, whose fitness programme BE.YOU. is available exclusively on the EUROPA 2, will become ‘Director of Sports & Fitness EUROPA 2’. Also private pre- and post-cruise programmes on shore will allow guests to extend their holidays.
Premiere ports
In 2017/2018, the route plan for the EUROPA 2 will include 22 maiden calls. For the first time, the 500-passenger luxury ship will be stopping at ports such as Messina in Italy, Port Canaveral in the USA, Puerto Chacabuco in Chile and Stanley on the Falkland Islands.
Private pre- and post-cruise programmes
Holiday experiences can be extended by a few more days with guests arranging to visit ports of departure and arrival on their own: in the coming season, they will have the opportunity to explore on a more personal basis, privately as a couple. The excursions will be accompanied by a local tour guide, who will attend to guests’ specific interests and wishes.
Maria Höfl-Riesch, Director of Sports & Fitness EUROPA 2
Three-time Olympic champion Maria Höfl-Riesch is offering the BE.YOU. fitness programme only to guests on board the EUROPA 2. BE.YOU. training is tailored to each individual guest and is supplemented by a body analysis and nutrition plans. Maria Höfl-Riesch, who will add her expertise to Hapag-Lloyd Cruises in the coming season in her new role as Director Sports & Fitness EUROPA 2, will join four cruises and train alongside the guests.

Special-format cruises: fashion, art, contemporary issues and relaxation
Enthralling discussion topics, contemporary trends in fashion and art, or new perspectives and ways to view the world: the EUROPA 2 special-format cruises focus on themes that reflect the interests of the ship’s target group. The fashion2sea cruise is centred around fashion and style – and a famous designer will present his/her collection on board. Famous museums and well-known galleries, talks and art discussions with experts will provide inspiration on the art2sea cruise. In talk2christiansen, Sabine Christiansen invites well-known international politicians, Nobel Prize laureates, entrepreneurs, best-selling authors and figures from public life to discuss contemporary issues – tailored to the respective cruise destination.
The IN2BALANCE cruise format is new for the 2017/2018 season. On selected cruises, coaches and trainers will present innovative training methods and the relaxation techniques of the Far East such as yoga in all its variations, burn-out prevention, t’ai chi and shiatsu. Guests will also learn of the latest research into nutritional science. IN2BALANCE will take place on six cruises in the coming season.
