With the commissioning of the three newbuilds HANSEATIC nature, HANSEATIC inspiration and HANSEATIC spirit in May and October 2019, as well as in May 2021, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is establishing a new class in its fleet. The three small, manoeuvrable and ultra-modern 5-star* expedition ships have the highest ice class for passenger ships (PC6). The three new ships are characterised by state-of-the-art technology and environmental engineering. Not only on land, but also in the innovative knowledge centres on board, passengers can learn exciting information about the nature and living environment of the worldwide expedition destinations. The passages take the ships from one extreme to the other - from the cold waters of the polar regions to the warm water regions of the Amazon. The routes as well as the construction and design are characterised by a genuine expedition experience and the greatest possible proximity to nature. The ships' credo is “Inspired by nature”.
