What to expect

The highlights of this cruise

England’s and Scotland’s modern cities with plenty of space for history and tradition, inviting harbour towns set in cinematic landscapes and some of the kingdom’s most beautiful gardens promise varied late-summer days.

England’s green coast welcomes you to idyllic COWES, as popular a meeting place for sailors as maritime DARTMOUTH. Get to know the British lifestyle in galleries and pubs or enjoy views of the British Riviera, which also inspired Agatha Christie*. The ISLES OF SCILLY, which reveal many a surprise in the Abbey Garden, are a subtropical paradise. MILFORD HAVEN offers insights into the culture of Wales before you trace the footsteps of the Beatles* in LIVERPOOL. Learn more about the legends of Scotland, castles and artistic gardens around PORTREE, ULLAPOOL and ABERDEEN before the Scottish capital with around 1,300 years of history awaits you: the EUROPA will spend two days in EDINBURGH – with highlights lined up along the cobblestone Royal Mile. After a day at sea, your cruise takes you back to HAMBURG.

Golf & Cruise

On our exclusive Golf & Cruise voyages, we have reserved the best golf courses for you in advance and put together attractive basic packages.

Basic package: four courses - € 1,850 per person
Golf pro on this cruise: André Sallmann - more about our pros

You could say that this is more or less the “British Open”. On offer is a round trip around the British Isles with four top-class courses. This is explicitly about getting involved in the British way of playing golf – on top-class golf courses, each of which is characterised by extremely natural layouts. As is customary on the British Isle, in most cases the original terrain is the basis for the “normal” design of the fairways respectively.

  • Mon 01.09.2025 Dartmouth, England – Dartmouth Golf & Country Club
Located in the rolling hills of Devon, this 27-hole course is divided into a championship course and a nine-hole adventure. The parkland layout features partly very sophisticated fairways and is equipped with tactically relevant bunkers. The modulated terrain does its part to make this round of golf a real adventure. Good for those who take the time to study the fairways thoroughly before taking each shot.

Thu 04.09.2025 Liverpool, England – West Lancashire GC
A typical northern English links course awaits golfing fans here. The narrow fairways can be very undulating in places and lead past impenetrable roughs to fast, expansive greens. Add to all this a strong wind off the coast, and it might feel like you’ve almost got a fourth opponent. A really genuine round of golf, made in England.

Mon 08.09.2025 Aberdeen, Scotland – Newmachar Golf Club
The mixture of parkland and links course promises a pleasant round. However, you should observe a few rules. If you study the course carefully, you will notice that almost every position is protected by corresponding obstacles or sand hazards. Therefore, it may be advisable to take one club less here and there in order to better control the direction of the ball. This way, you can elegantly avoid the numerous bunkers.

Tue 09.09.2025 Leith, Scotland – Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club – East Course
This very typical English golf course has two different 18-hole experiences. The traditional layout of the course leads to very narrow fairways, which demand a great deal of precision. The level of concentration required to send your ball off in the right direction means that this course will stay in your memory as a very intense golfing experience. As well as the narrow fairways already described, bunkers that are typical of English courses also need to be avoided. There are also plenty of water hazards to play around on the Championship Course. 18th hole, a par 5 with 463 m (506 yd), which also only develops after the first carry and ends in front of the clubhouse directly on the coastal cliffs.

    General Information

    • In order to guarantee a comfortable flow of play for all golfers, we have determined a basic speed, which is sufficient for a playing time of 4.5 to 5 hours on foot (covering 18 holes with a trolley).
    • Due to tournaments, renovations, etc. at the various golf clubs, our Golf & Cruise programme is subject to change at short notice.
    • Golf & Cruise voyages allow all players with a handicap of 36 or less to play on courses all over the world.
    • Additional courses can only be booked in conjunction with the basic package.
    • The reservation of e-carts cannot always be guaranteed due to local availability and weather conditions. You may, therefore, have to play and walk just with trolleys - possibly even on hilly courses. Please consider this when planning/booking your Golf & Cruise package.
    • Halfway refreshments are always ordered via the respective golf club; we have no influence on the quality of the snacks. We kindly ask for your understanding.
    • When booking a Golf & Cruise package and flights through Hapag-Lloyd, we will register your golf equipment directly with the airlines – when possible and required. The current baggage regulations of the relevant airline apply. In your travel documents, which you will receive about four weeks prior to departure, you will find relevant information about this. Excess baggage fees for golf equipment are normally to be paid at check-in.
    • Minimum number of participants for basic packages: 12 persons.
    • Minimum number of participants for additional courses: 10 persons.
    • If the minimum number of participants is not reached, cancellation will occur no later than eight weeks prior to cruise departure.
    • Rental clubs for right-handed and left-handed players are available on board, subject to a surcharge.
