This routing is something for golf gourmets! It offers golfing “the British way”, and that in a four plus three format. The journey starts on the east coast of Scotland, heads north, crosses over to Ireland and then continues around the Irish island. The final test is then in the south of England. Typically British golf courses will be played, each with the corresponding charm of a natural course. And all this in the country that represents the origin of the game.
Sat 19.07.2025 Aberdeen, Scotland – Newmachar Golf Club
The mixture of parkland and links course promises a very pleasant round. However, you should observe a few rules. If you study the course carefully, you will notice that almost every position is protected by corresponding obstacles or sand hazards. Therefore, it may be advisable to take one club less here and there in order to better control the direction of the ball. This way, you can elegantly avoid the numerous bunkers.
Wed 23.07.2025 Londonderry, Northern Ireland - North West Golf Club – additional course 1
The 5,761 metres of the links course are located directly on a foothill of the North Atlantic and are therefore almost always in contact with the accompanying ocean and the sandy beach in front of it. The fairways, which are modelled on the Scottish model, can look back on over a hundred years of history. They are often compared with the model in St Andrews, the Old Course. As there, the natural ground is the design template for the fairways, so you should read the fairways carefully at the start of the game to ensure a good score. Note: Only trolleys are available on this course.
Fri 25.07.2025 Dingle, Ireland – Dingle Links
In addition to the traditionally classic links, the extremely attentive hospitality of the local golfers will stay in your memory here. The course, which opened in 1924, lies right on Ireland’s west coast. The quaint-looking course layout conveys an original golfing experience. To this day, each of the fairways bears a Gallic name. A kind of golfing “back to the future” experience awaits you here.
Sat 26.07.2025 Bantry, Ireland – Bantry Bay Golf Club
The combination of parkland and links course designed in 1975 by Christy O’Connor Junior lies right on Bantry Bay. There are views over the spectacular bay from 14 of the 18 holes, allowing you to look out for sightings of the EUROPA every now and again. Some of the fairways are very hilly, so it is advisable to use a golf cart on this round. The original, traditional layout has some unusual surprises in store. You may find that the tee for one hole needs to be played across the green of the previous hole, for instance.
Sun 27.07.2025 Kinsale, Ireland – Cork Golf Club – additional course 2
Spanning altogether 6,192 m (6,771 yd), this course is over 100 years old and was created by Alister MacKenzie, who also worked with Bobby Jones on the famous Masters course in Augusta. Here in Cork, however, things are not quite so elite. The limited space available for the course has created an interestingly compact layout. For this reason, when teeing off you will often find yourself playing over the green you have just completed. A somewhat unusual game at times, but it certainly has its charms.
Tue 29.07.2025 Fowey, England – Carlyon Bay Golf Club – additional course 3
This golfing gem is located in the south of Cornwall. Right from the first tee, the overview of the entire course can be seen in all its peculiarity. The wide fairways, which lead the players to their goal almost without any rough, usually end on sweeping greens. The way there, however, is often on rather modulated surfaces, which require a very careful game.
Wed 30.07.2025 Portsmouth, England – South Winchester Golf Club
This impressive championship course has an easily comprehensible layout with expansive and highly modulated fairways. Even a ball that is played off course and into the rough should generally be easy to get back into play. However, the numerous sand and water hazards are a slight hindrance on the way to the green.
