    The highlights of this cruise

Welcome to astounding adventures that even Jack London wouldn’t have had the words for. Two days in British Columbia’s Inside Passage are the stunning prelude. Enjoy your front-row seat on deck as islands, mountains and small settlements pass by. Alaska’s Inside Passage then leads along the fjord coast of the United States. Ketchikan features a busy harbour and is the starting point for a variety of experiences. From here, follow the call of the wild to go bear watching* – an experience that we also offer as an organised excursion from Wrangell and Homer on this cruise. Picturesque Wrangell is one of Alaska’s oldest settlements. The colourful stilt houses in Petersburg and the Tlingit totem poles on Kupreanof Island will enchant you. This is the best time to watch sea lions and whales – for example, when cruising in Endicott Arm and Tracy Arm, where you’ll marvel at rock faces and glaciers. Chichagof Island is also the summer home of humpback whales. With only around 30 inhabitants, Elfin Cove tells of life in the wilderness. Glaciers, mountain peaks and waterfalls: the many open deck areas on board offer the best views when cruising at the Hubbard Glacier and in the Tsaa Fjord. On Kodiak Island, you will gain insights into what was once Russian America. Experience Alaska’s spectacular nature around Homer actively on a hike* to the glacial lake and on a kayak tour*. Perhaps there will be another chance to spot bears while cruising in Katmai National Park. Enjoy the epilogue of your explorers’ adventure by relaxing on the many open deck areas of the ship.

The itinerary depends on official approval and the weather conditions. The natural experiences and wildlife sightings described are possibilities on this cruise and are not guaranteed. The use of on-board Zodiacs is currently not permitted in Alaska. When the ship is at anchor, the ship’s tender boats will be used.

    * The shore activities are not included in the cruise price and are in the planning stage. Subject to change.
