    The highlights of this cruise

Welcome to the highest, driest and coldest continent on the planet! Welcome to Antarctica! From November to March it is summer here and the best time to travel. Where other ships have to turn round, the adventure begins for you. Thanks to the highest ice class for passenger ships, our expedition fleet travels through the polar ice world and you will see sights that you will never forget: glistening icebergs, huge glacier panoramas, colonies of seabirds, seals and, of course, thousands of penguins.

    show complete itinerary

This Antarctic expedition leaves no wish unfulfilled: immerse yourself in intensive experiences and spellbinding encounters on the unforgettable sixth continent. Fascinating fauna, glistening sculptures in the ice and numerous Zodiac landings will turn this expedition into the cruise of your lifetime. Whether on the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, the South Orkney Islands or the Antarctic Peninsula: the extraordinary natural spectacles, various species of seabird and sparkling blue-and-white sculptures made of ice will take your breath away. An absolutely unbelievable number of penguins lining the mountain slopes like a welcoming committee and mighty elephant seals loudly courting on land await you on South Georgia. Listen to the cracking of the pack ice on the Weddell Sea, marvel at the shimmering blue tabular icebergs in all their monumental glory and keep an eye out for whales. Marvel at the various facets of the Antarctic – from the deck, in the Zodiacs and on hikes with the experts. Because on every Antarctic cruise, an expedition team of up to 16 members is at your side – with expertise, passion and specialist knowledge. On land and on board as well as in the Ocean Academy, your experts share exciting details and information. They will enrich your observations with remarkable facts and answer all your questions on Zodiac rides or excursions ashore. The breathtaking atmosphere of the Antarctic invigorates all your senses. At the far end of the world amidst pristine nature and majestic ice formations, you are closer to creation than ever before.

South Orkney Islands , South Shetland Islands , Weddell Sea , Antarctic Peninsula

The South Orkney Islands are a lonely, glaciated world of icy wilderness located in the Scotia Sea. They are home to chinstrap and Adelie penguins, which can be spotted here. With luck, you’ll also see icebergs drifting off the rugged coast. Find out how the polar explorers live at the Argentinian Orcadas Station (depending on weather and authorisation). Experience the South Shetland Islands between ice and awe intensively – on deck as well as by Zodiac. The Weddell Sea is home to stunning ice formations – whether as sparkling blue-and-white sculptures, gigantic tabular icebergs or creaking sheets of dense pack ice. Off the Antarctic Peninsula, your ship sails into the centre of the flooded caldera of Deception Island. Majestic glaciers and gigantic icebergs shimmer in Paradise Bay. The Lemaire Channel is also impressive, flanked by mighty mountains up to 1,000 m (3,281 ft) high. Icebergs ahead: at the bow and on the open deck areas, you can enjoy the best views of the white wonderland. You may even spot the flukes of blue whales, sperm whales and humpback whales as well as orcas.

There is no limit to the awe-inspiring sights on your flexible expedition in Chile’s fjords. As you cruise, the captain and crew will select the most fascinating routes to stunning experiences. The excitement on board will mount as you glide past the majestic Amalia Glacier and enjoy the vast panoramas from the many open deck areas. Meet the remaining 60 Indigenous people in Puerto Eden, a community still undiscovered by tourism. This is where the last descendants of the Kaweskar, Indigenous sea nomads, live. Instead of roads, the car-free village has wooden plank paths, footbridges and steps leading through the area so that every house can be reached with dry feet. Surrounded by unspoilt wilderness, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the surrounding nature on an eye-opening walk.
