The EUROPA 2 awaits you in Colon for a multifaceted cruise that begins with the idyllic passage through the Panama Canal and takes you along the west coast of Central America and the USA: From Puntarenas, discover the hinterland and the small villages of Costa Rica on a historic railway* or the rainforest with rich biodiversity on a canopy adventure*. The Nicaraguan city of San Juan del Sur is a good starting point for an excursion to the imposing Masaya Volcano* and the pretty colonial city of Granada*, before the harbour of Puerto Quetzal becomes the gateway for a visit to colonial Antigua* with its baroque architecture. A flight to Tikal National Park* with its pyramids, temples and palaces hidden in the rainforest provides insights into what was once the largest Mayan ceremonial centre. Acapulco, Mexico’s most popular seaside resort, will introduce you to the famous cliff divers at the La Perla club*, who jump from the 35 m (115 ft) cliff into a bay just 5 m (16 ft) wide. Via the harbour town of Zihuatanejo with its colourful fishing village and beautiful beaches, you will reach Puerto Vallarta later on in your cruise. From here, gain insights into authentic Mexico on an excursion* to San Sebastian del Oeste; alternatively, the local skippers will take you on an RIB boat trip* into the world of humpback whales. Fine sand and deepblue sea: in Cabo San Lucas, find out what many celebrities love so much about this coastal town and take a boat trip* to the El Arco rock arch – or immerse yourself in the charm of the artists’ town of Todos Santos*. Finally, explore the second largest city in California, San Diego, before you reach the destination of your cruise, Los Angeles.

For anyone visiting this jewel on the west coast of Mexico, it is paradise in two ways. The colourful fishing village of Zihuatanejo (place of women) exudes tradition, heritage and culture of the past, while Ixtapa exudes the image of a new and contemporary tourist mecca. Life in Zihuatanejo is still centred on Playa Principal, the town's main beach. Every morning, the fishermen return to the jetty with their catch. Two popular beaches in the sheltered bay are Playa Las Gatas and La Ropa.

This course combines golf and jungle adventure. A total of 18 well-designed albeit sometimes quite narrow fairways run through the primeval forest-like area. The local wildlife here likes to jump, fly and/or sing on and above the golfing action. This repeatedly creates unusual distraction factors, both acoustically and visually. It is a special challenge, for example, when a yellow-billed toucan on the tree at the edge of the fairway sceptically observes the goings-on that take place on the playing field. This could make it a little more difficult to be concentrated on the ball. A course that is not only technically demanding, but where you should be prepared for a lot of distractions.Mon, 19.01.2026, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Vista Vallarta Golf Club
This championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus is located on a high plateau above Puerto Vallarta. The location of the fairways in the highlands is not necessarily an advantage, as there are always strong distraction factors due to the views down to the city, the marina and Banderas Bay. The eastern side (inland) of the course is bordered by hills and palm forests. The actual golf courses, typical of the architect Nicklaus, consist of wide fairways with bunkers and fairly large greens. – Somehow it is fitting that fellow golf pro Phil Mickelson, of all people, holds the course record on this par 72 course with 62 strokes.Wed, 21.01.2026, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – Cabo San Lucas Country Club
At the very southern tip of Baja California, these 18 holes run through an original desert terrain. This is still visible today, as it almost always accompanies the entire golf holes of the championship course to the right and left. This results in straight fairways with a very well-kept Bermuda grass carpet, which end on manageably large, fairly slow greens. But there is not enough sand in the game with the bordering sandy areas; over 80 bunkers have been created on the fairways at the relevant landing positions. This means that hole 16 of the course, with its par 5 and 558 m (610 yd) in length, hardly gets any more attention, even though it is the longest golf course in Mexico.Sat, 24.01.2026, San Diego, USA – Maderas Golf Club
The Parkland Course is located in the middle of the Pine Hills above San Diego, and the very hilly terrain forms the basis for the 18 varied holes. Accordingly, a certain degree of variability is required from the players. With its wide fairways and rather small greens, slopes cannot be avoided on this course. – Appropriate course management can be an advantage here.General Information
- In order to guarantee a comfortable flow of play for all golfers, we have determined a basic speed, which is sufficient for a playing time of 4.5 to 5 hours on foot (covering 18 holes with a trolley).
- Due to tournaments, renovations, etc. at the various golf clubs, our Golf & Cruise programme is subject to change at short notice.
- Golf & Cruise voyages allow all players with a handicap of 36 or less to play on courses all over the world.
- Additional courses can only be booked in conjunction with the basic package.
- The reservation of e-carts cannot always be guaranteed due to local availability and weather conditions. You may, therefore, have to play and walk just with trolleys - possibly even on hilly courses. Please consider this when planning/booking your Golf & Cruise package.
- Halfway refreshments are always ordered via the respective golf club; we have no influence on the quality of the snacks. We kindly ask for your understanding.
- When booking a Golf & Cruise package and flights through Hapag-Lloyd, we will register your golf equipment directly with the airlines – when possible and required. The current baggage regulations of the relevant airline apply. In your travel documents, which you will receive about four weeks prior to departure, you will find relevant information about this. Excess baggage fees for golf equipment are normally to be paid at check-in.
- Minimum number of participants for basic packages: 12 persons.
- Minimum number of participants for additional courses: 10 persons.
- If the minimum number of participants is not reached, cancellation will occur no later than eight weeks prior to cruise departure.
