    Relaxation at sea
  • Rarotonga, the largest of the Cook Islands. It was settled by Polynesian seafarers many centuries ago and has since developed into a centre of Polynesian culture. European missionaries reached the island in the 19th century, bringing the influence of Christianity with them. Later on, Rarotonga became a British colony, before gaining independence in 1965. Today, visitors can explore historic sights including ancient villages and sacred sites. The history of Rarotonga is closely linked with the culture of the native Maori, who are proud of their cultural heritage. As well as its fascinating past, Rarotonga also offers breathtaking natural scenery, featuring lush rainforests and beautiful beaches to discover, where you can enjoy some relaxation time. Aitutaki is enchanting with its world-famous lagoon, which is so brightly coloured and clear that it’s one of the most beautiful in the world and a great place for snorkelling, kayaking or just enjoying the tranquillity. Together, Rarotonga and Aitutaki represent the beauty and serenity of the Cook Islands, the ideal escape from everyday life.

    Relaxation at sea
  • Emerald-green rainforests and azure-blue skies: it’s easy to believe that the people of Vanuatu are the happiest in the world. The blue lagoons and colourful coral gardens make it easy to see why. When you land on remote beaches with the Zodiacs away from the typical tourist routes, you will be in paradise. But the happiest nation is not just about its pastel-coloured scenery; its mysterious customs that have been maintained over the centuries are also part of the culture here. Mystery Island, off Anatom, is a tiny island, which you can walk around in about 30 minutes. Magnificent sandy beaches with shady palm trees invite you to swim and while away some time and the coral reef is ideal for snorkelling. Give in to your South Seas dreams here – on your own or on a walk with your experts.

Before your trip

Sporting inspiration at sea

Maria Riesch is one of the most successful German winter athletes of all time. The three-time Olympic champion, multiple world champion and overall World Cup winner in alpine skiing has shaped the international skiing world for many years. With precision and exceptional athleticism, she won races in all disciplines and became one of the most versatile ski racers of her generation. After retiring from active competition, she remained connected to the sport – as an expert, mentor and source of inspiration for exercise, motivation and mental strength.

Maria Riesch will accompany you on this extraordinary expedition through the South Seas as a sports expert on board. Surrounded by pastel-coloured lagoons, lush rainforests and remote island worlds, she opens up new perspectives on exercise, performance and inner balance – far away from the classic training routine and embedded in one of the most fascinating regions on earth.

On the first day at sea, the General Expedition Manager invites you to a personal talk with the Olympic champion. In a relaxed atmosphere, she talks about her sporting career, the highs and lows of competitive sport, mental resilience and motivation, and how experiences from top-level sport can be transferred to everyday life. The vastness of the Pacific Ocean provides the ideal setting for inspiration, reflection and exchange.

On the other days at sea, training sessions are scheduled for the morning and afternoon. The open-concept programmes are designed for guests of different fitness levels. The focus is on movement, body awareness and activation. Whether as a gentle balance after a Zodiac ride or as a conscious start to the day at sea, the training programmes invite you to stay active and take new inspiration with you.
