Our fare structure

All good things come in threes - this also applies to our fare structure. The three fares PLATINUM, GOLD and SILVER differ in terms of the services included and their availability. The new fare structure will apply to all new bookings from 1 March 2024 onwards.

FAQs - our new fare and offer structure

We have revised the pricing model without making any major changes. Since March, we are calling our previous normal printed sales prices the PLATINUM fare, and the guaranteed cabin will become the GOLD fare. The SILVER fare is a new addition. If there are special conditions for already published cruises, these can be found here. The aim of the changes is to make the price and offer structure even more transparent and easier to understand.

Changing bookings between fares is generally possible. In the event of changed bookings, the General Terms and Conditions of Travel of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises apply to all fares.

In the event of cancellations in the PLATINUM, GOLD or SILVER fare, the General Terms and Conditions of Travel still apply.

Cancellation fee insurance (20 % excess) is included in the PLATINUM and GOLD fares. Further information on the insurance included can be found here

In the SILVER fare, cancellation fee insurance and curtailment insurance can be booked as an option for all customers from the European Union and the European Economic Area. Customers from Switzerland with bookings in the SILVER fare have the option of booking cancellation fee insurance and travel curtailment insurance through ERGO Switzerland. For all other countries, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises cannot offer cancellation fee insurance. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises recommends taking out cancellation fee insurance directly with the customer’s local travel agency.

Insurance for combined cruises (combination SILVER with GOLD/PLATINUM)
If a cruise in the SILVER fare is combined with a cruise in the GOLD or PLATINUM fare, cancellation fee insurance (20 % excess) is also included for the part of the cruise in the SILVER fare via the collective agreement. This exception for the SILVER fare only applies to combined cruises. Further information on the insurance included can be found here

The on-board booking discount is granted in all fares.

The combination discount is granted in the PLATINUM fare. No combination discount is granted in the GOLD and SILVER fares.

If there are special conditions for cruises that have already been published, these are found in the SILVER fare. This applies to single and double rooms.

We would like to further strengthen our online communication and transparency. The current valid prices can be viewed online at any time.

An early booking discount is granted in the PLATINUM and GOLD fares. From the 25/26 brochure onwards, the early booking discount will consist of a real value in euros.

Bookings in the PLATINUM and GOLD fares will be informed as soon as the shore excursions are published. Bookings in the SILVER fare will receive this information 14 days after publication. Even if shore excursions are published at a later date, bookings in the PLATINUM and GOLD fares will be able to book first.
