    show complete itinerary

Like the glaciers high in the north, your pioneering spirit takes on new heights: this season, the new expedition class is attempting to circumnavigate Svalbard “around the outside” via the easternmost island for the first time – flexibly, weather and ice permitting. Be one of the few people to dare this adventure – with the “white island” of Kvitoya as a destination as well. Its ice cap and the rocky east coast may be shrouded in fog, which in no way detracts from the adventure. When the pack ice clears the way to the island, you may be lucky enough to spot polar bears and walruses from a respectful distance. The spirit of expedition is in the air when you are rewarded with a landing. An Arctic dream, just as the Swedish polar explorer Salomon August Andrée must have experienced it here in 1897. Svalbard’s north, a refuge for seals and Arctic foxes, is also difficult to reach. Feel the legend of the archipelago from the deck, in the Zodiacs and on hikes as you explore huge glaciers, deep fjords and the unspoilt wilderness. After a successful circumnavigation, you will be part of the explorer’s history of Svalbard.

---- The ice conditions determine the course here (see map).

The itinerary depends on official approval, weather and ice conditions. The natural experiences and wildlife sightings described are possibilities on this expedition and are not guaranteed. The crew will endeavour to complete the circumnavigation of Svalbard. Circumnavigation is not guaranteed.
