Montpellier* offers you a magical old town with typical courtyards dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. You could also go looking for medieval architecture in picturesque Aigues-Mortes*. Even from a distance, the silhouette of mighty walls and towers stands out against the vast landscape of lagoons and salt flats.
