Slate Island/Lake Superior, from 9.00 to 13.00 hrs
Known for its dramatic rock formations and steep cliffs, the Slate Island Nature Reserve offers unique ecosystems, including forests, wetlands and coastal habitats. In addition to the diversity of plants, it is also home to several animals, such as the rare coastal wolf. This has made Slate Island an important conservation area to ensure the preservation of this endangered species. Adventurers can also take a Zodiac cruise along the coastline.
Silver Islet, from 7.00 to 19.00 hrs
The small town of Silver Islet in Lake Superior was once the epicenter of silver mining. In 1868, miners discovered high-quality silver ore and the island flourished, becoming one of the richest silver mines in the world. But the boom did not last. The era of mining on Silver Islet ended with the fall in silver prices and the depletion of ore deposits. Today, remnants of the mining facilities and the underwater mine are reminders of the glory days. In addition to its historical significance, the town also offers a picturesque landscape that invites you to hike through the forests and along Lake Superior.
Battle Island, from 8.00 to 18.00 hrs
Battle Island in Lake Superior is a natural island with historical significance. During the War of 1812, the island played a strategic role as a location for clashes between the USA and Great Britain. Today, it attracts nature lovers who want to explore its pristine forests, rugged coastline, clear waters and diverse wildlife. The lighthouse, built in the late 19th century, is the island's iconic landmark.

Killarney/Lake Huron, from 8.00 to 19.00 hrs
The small coastal municipality of Killarney reveals its Irish roots in its name. The “emerald isle” of George Island can be reached by ferry and will show off its colourful side in autumn. Exploring the uninhabited island is just one of the many outdoor activities that you can enjoy here.
Parry Sound, from 8.30 to 17.30 hrs
It is the unforgettable feeling of freedom that makes the area around Parry Sound so charming – as demonstrated beautifully by a boat trip of the Thirty Thousand Islands*.
Tobermory, from 7.00 to 14.00 hrs
Windsor/Detroit River, from 8.00 to 19.00 hrs
Or how about a hike through the forests to the rocky coastline on the Bruce Trail? The industrial history of the small city of Windsor is overshadowed by its neighbour on the American side of the Detroit River – the Motor City. The skyline of Detroit* heralds exciting insights into the rise, fall and reinvention of the legendary car-making city. Follow in the footsteps of Henry Ford* at the museum that bears his name and see masterpieces of the road and rails from days gone by. Alternatively, experience the city’s many faces and history for yourself on an active and sustainable bicycle tour of Detroit* past Belle Isle Park and with a visit to Eastern Market.
Cruising on Lake Erie
After cruising on Lake Erie, it’s time for this journey to come to an end with the passage of the Welland Canal – after eight locks, around 20 bridges and a change in height of 100 m (328 ft), your memories of the Great Lakes will be just as unique as their untamed magic.
