Or go in search of Norwegian explorers and visit grand Viking ships as well as the Kon-Tiki and Fram museums*, which are well worth a visit.

The charming old town area of Tyholmen with its typical Nordic wooden houses and the vibrant inner harbour of Pollen make Arendal a very diverse coastal city. A scenic tour* along the Skagerrak coast takes you to Tvedestrand and the pretty little fishing villages of Lillesand and Grimsand, sitting beautifully amidst the skerry scenery.

Get to know the port city on Norway’s west coast with a stroll through the Hanseatic quarter of Bryggen with the original town houses that are typical of Bergen. Music lovers will have the chance to visit the home of composer Edvard Grieg* and combine this experience with a trip to the reconstructed Fantoft Stave Church*, which has had an eventful history.

Norway’s most famous fjord stretches 15 km (9.3 mi.) and is surrounded by steep rock faces up to 1,500 m (4,921 ft) in height. Enjoy the panoramic view from your front-row seat on your private veranda, explore on land with a trip to the Dalsnibba* with its impressive view and height of 1,500 m (4,921 ft), or paddle a kayak* to the “Seven Sisters” waterfalls.
