Your route heads north along the east coast of Australia. The diversity of the landscapes here is matched by the variety in the designs of the golf courses selected for this tour. Golfing in Australia always means a very special experience. Get to know the continent from a unique perspective through the golf designs that are heavily influenced by the natural surroundings.
Wed 08.02.2023 Sydney, Australia - Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club
The long, very straight course layout bears the signature of golf champion Greg Norman. "The Shark" designed his first 18 fairways here in 2012 in the middle of the Olympic city of Sydney. He harmoniously integrated the former bushland into his design, creating fairways that perfect the geological features with impressive bunkers and challenging greens. The result is a mixture of a city-and-parkland golf course.
Fri 10.02.2023 Brisbane, Australia - Brisbane Golf Club
The varied parkland course can look back on a 125-year history, making it one of the oldest golf courses on the continent. The 18-hole course features sufficiently wide fairways on a total of 6,105 m (20,030 ft) from the back tee box. The level fairways on the round hold 75 well-placed bunkers and numerous water features. – Tip: The 18th hole with its 316 m (1,037 ft) should be approached with a little restraint, otherwise the ball will land in the clubhouse before its players!
Wed 15.02.2023 Cairns, Australia - Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club
The club describes its course as the world's only tropical links style golf course. The flora and fauna, paired with extremely wide but also some highly modulated fairways, make the Palmer Sea Reef adventure unique. However, insiders warn against fishing lost balls out of the waterways, as there are numerous aggressive saltwater crocodiles watching the golfers pass by from their hiding places.
Sun 19.02.2023 Darwin, Australia - Palmerston Golf & Country Club
The contrasting 18-hole layout, comes up with idiosyncratic course designations! The bus stop, footprint, devil's elbow or even the needle, to name just a few. Whereas the first nine, with partly very long fairways and alone on six of nine holes are guarded with water areas, which then end on quite challenging greens. The second nine want to be mastered on very accurately played fairways guarded by trees.
