Head to Europe’s largest active volcano Mount Etna* by cable car and all-terrain vehicle. Cooled lava flows and an unrivalled view await you at a height of 2,900 m (9,514 ft). Visit the village of Savoca, where The Godfather was filmed, with a classic car tour* in an original Fiat 500.

Monopoli sits in a unique location and is an ideal starting point for an excursion to the cave dwellings of Matera* or to Lecce*, the “Florence of the south”.

The historic town is like an open-air museum and is considered the “pearl of the Adriatic”. Visit the wealth of sights or head out on a kayak tour*. Connoisseurs will enjoy an excursion to the small harbour village of Mali Ston*, which is famous for farming oysters and shellfish.

The island is characterised by deep green forests of pines and holm oaks. The picturesque old town with its ring of fortifications, the city gate and the house of Marco Polo are perfect places to visit on a walking tour. Or you can explore the hinterland with a hike*.

A visit to the centre of the oldest city in Istria is like travelling through the ages from ancient times to the modern day. Explore the monumental Roman buildings, Venetian Renaissance palaces and modern high-rise architecture. A visit to the renowned truffle producer Zigante* promises a special culinary experience.
