More than 40 of the world‘s best dancers, 25 years of experience, two simultaneous tours and more than 2,000 productions for international companies and brands – all of this makes Flying Steps the most successful urban dance group developing urban dance shows and individual show concepts worldwide. What started on a card box on Berlin‘s Ku‘damm in 1993, today takes place on the gleaming parquet floors of the world‘s greatest stages. Whether in the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, in the Burgtheater in Vienna, in the Orchard Hall in Tokyo or in the Teatro della Pergola in Florence – the quadruple breakdance world champions Flying Steps have toured more than 35 countries. In 2010 the Flying Steps‘ first feature-length show paved the way for this success. With Flying Bach they revolutionized breakdance by being the first to combine classical music with breakdance and to prove the artfulness of this dance style. The show wasn‘t only awarded with an ECHO Classic special award. It has also torn down the walls between high and youth culture. Until today Flying Bach has sold out two tours, performed in 42 countries and fascinated more than half a million people. Similarly successful is their fascinating arena show Flying Illusion. After being celebrated during its premiere in Berlin‘s Tempodrom in 2014, it went on a big tour through Germany in 2017 and has lured more than 350,000 spectators into Europe‘s largest venues. The team surrounding Creative Director Vartan Bassil has long achieved an international standing. And it is confirmed by numerous commissioned productions that have made the company the market leader in creating individual dance show concepts. At the same time the support and training of young dancers is an important part of the Flying Steps‘ efforts. In 2007 they opened the Flying Steps Academy in the heart of Berlin, which is the biggest and most innovative dance school in the world. On more than 1,500 sqm the next generation of urban dance is taught by the best instructors of the scene in subjects such as breakdance, hip hop, popping, locking, jazz dance, ballet and many other dance styles.
