Relaxation at sea
Kerkyra/Corfu/Ionian Islands/Greece, 7.00 – 18.00 hrs
Kerkyra/Corfu
Legend has it that Poseidon, god of the sea, brought the nymph Kerkyra here. This island – the second largest of the Ionian Islands – is best explored on horseback**. This way you can experience the natural beauty of the island close-up in a hilly landscape of cork oaks and olive trees. Or follow in Sisi’s footsteps: once upon a time, Empress Elisabeth of Austria commissioned the Achilleon*, a building surrounded by magnificent gardens with a sculpture park.
Kotor/Montenegro , 8.00 – 15.00 hrs
Kotor
An unforgettable experience: the cruise to Kotor on board the EUROPA 2. The natural harbour lies at the end of the bay of the same name, which cuts deep inland like a fjord for about 30 km. The winding alleys and Venetian palaces in the town are well protected behind the fortified city walls. As well as Kotor, you can also discover Budva**, one of the oldest settlements in the Balkans, which is a great place for sightseeing with its citadel, impressive squares and narrow streets. Alternatively you might want to combine some action with relaxation during a speed boat ride to the Blue Cave* to swim in the crystal-clear water.
Trogir/Croatia , 8.00 – 18.00 hrs
Trogir
Romanesque and Gothic churches, palaces and houses, narrow streets and bright courtyards: The historic centre of Trogir is a treasure chest of art and architecture, dating back more than 2,000 years, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the most impressive natural phenomena in Croatia are the waterfalls of Krka**, whilst a white-water rafting** trip will take you past some impressive cliffs and wild, primitive flora.
Ravenna/Italy, 11.00 – 20.00 hrs
Ravenna
The central Piazza del Popolo, with its typically Italian street cafes, is the ideal starting point for a stroll through this idyllic university town. Ravenna is famous above all for its mosaics**, which decorate the Basilica of San Vitale and the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, for example. Another option to spend this day would be by exploring the oldest republic in the world: San Marino. Its fortress, Rocca Gualta, the city’s landmark seated on Mount Titano, already welcomes you from a distance.
Venice/Italy, arrival 7.00 hrs
Overnight stay on board
Venice
With over 400 bridges and countless palazzi lining the city’s canals, for many visitors, La Serenissima is the most beautiful city in the world. The city’s unique highlights include St Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace** and the cathedral with its brilliant gold mosaics. A gourmet tour** promises a traditional Italian culinary experience, with an opportunity to try local cichetti snacks and locally produced wines.
