Fri 09.08.2024 Leith (Edinburgh), Scotland – Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club – East Course
This very typically English golf course has two different 18-hole experiences. The traditional layout of the course means the fairways are very narrow, which demands a great deal of precision. You also need to concentrate on sending your ball off in the right direction so that this course and its intense golfing experience stay in your memory. As well as the narrow fairways already described, bunkers that are typical of English courses also need to be avoided. There are also some impressive water hazards to play around on the Championship Course.
Wed 14.08.2024 Belfast, Northern Ireland – Malone Golf Club
The 27 well-maintained parkland holes are located in the southern outskirts of Belfast. Founded in 1895, the golf club had to move several times before it reached its current location. Now golfers can enjoy wonderfully wide fairways with generous greens that make for an invigorating round of golf on predominantly straight lines. A highlight is hole 15, a par 3 with 153 metres, an island green located directly on the lake. After your round, you can look forward to a typically British club room.
Thu 15.08.2024 Douglas (Isle of Man), England – Castletown Golf Links – Additional course
This course is situated on a peninsula in Castletown Bay, surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean. This location means that many of the fairways end with greens on the steep cliffs, which drop straight down into the sea. The golfing challenges are not only in the course layout, however. The constant sea breeze also has a strong influence on the trajectory of the ball, and the distracting views have a part to play as well.
Fri 16.08.2024 Liverpool, England – West Lancashire Golf Club
In the dunes north of Liverpool, a typically northern English links course awaits. With its undulating, narrow fairways, impenetrable roughs and fast greens, you can look forward to a highly original game of golf. As well as the challenges of the layout, you also need to watch out for the constantly changing wind blowing off the Atlantic. All in all, careful course management is required. – Just what you might have imagined for your British golfing experience.
